Susie Coleman Dattilo

Hi, John:  Thanks so much for all of the work you are doing on our behalf!  I am enjoying all of the very recent emails that I have been receiving this week and am so glad that you are resending them to those of us that did not get them the first time around.
I am not sure if you will remember me, as I was only at Sarasota High School for two years; 1958 & 1959, as a junior and then a senior.  My name back then was Susie Coleman and I moved to Sarasota from New York, with a long, dark pony tail and a NY accent.  No more pony tail, but I still have a NY accent, though maybe not as distinct.
Most of the friends that I had back then were not in our class.  Some were older and most were in the grade behind us and they graduated in the class of 1960.  In our class I was close to Bonnie Lancer and also to Martha Price, whom I remember so fondly.  I have not been in touch with anyone from our class in all of these years and did not make it to any other reunion, but am looking forward to this one.
After finishing high school I attended Florida Southern College, the University of GA and graduated from the Univ. of Miami.  At that time I got married and moved to Germany, where we lived for three years.  Upon returning to the USA we relocated to Clearwater, Fl and that is where I still live.  I have been single for many years now and have two children, both of whom have recently married.  No grandkids yet, but  am nanny to a cat and some fish!
For 31 years I have been on the faculty of Shorecrest Prep. School in a variety of positions.  Currently I am a Learning Specialist in both the middle and upper divisions and mainly work with students in grades 5-9.  Private school education has been very rewarding in any number of ways, just not financially.  The students are a joy to work with and the parents are very supportive.
I like to travel, love movies and the theater and eating out and consider myself to be the family historian, as far as photography is concerned.
I am sure that you will remember Joe and Lindsay Haley.  Lindsay graduated a year after us and Joe a few years before us.  I had stayed close to Lindsay for many years and also saw Joe from  time to  time.  Sadly, Lindsay passed away a few years ago from Cancer, having very bravely fought the good fight for a long time.  She had one daughter named Amy, who is about to have her first baby this summer and I see her as often as I can.
My son Jeff is an actor in NY and my daughter Pam is a wine rep for Masi Wine, out of Verona, Italy.  I get to enjoy the theater with Jeff in NY and enjoy wine with Pam often.  Life is sweet...
Please feel free to forward this on.  Again, many thanks for all that you are doing with your messages.
Warmth & Caring,
Susie
